PART P ELECTRICAL COURSES

From 1st January 2005 all electrical work carried out in domestic dwellings is required to comply with part p of the building regulations and has to be carried out by a competent person. A competent person is someone who has undergone the appropriate training and is certified to carry out such work.

As a NICEIC approved centre we are able to offer you the very important training and certification to enable you to legally carry out electrical installations without the hassle of getting an electrician or involving your local authority building control.

This course is ideal for any tradesmen who sometimes needs to carry out electrical work in their everyday job i.e. plumbers/heating engineers, bathroom fitters, kitchen fitters, carpenters and builders.

WHY GET PART P CERTIFICATION?

If you do not hold the part p certification and you are required to carry out any electrical work in a domestic dwelling you will need to inform your local authority building control of your intended works.

They will send an inspector to inspect your work at the 1st and 2nd fix stages at a cost of between £100 and £200 per inspection.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE CONSIST OF?

The 5 day course consists of 16 modules, practical assessments and computer based multiple choice on line external examination. On successful completion of this you will be registered  with the part P self certification scheme. This will allow you to legally carry out electrical work in domestic dwellings without having to notify your local authority.[ VRQ Level 2 Domestic Installers Certificate]

For those of you who have no or very little electrical experience you would need to attend the 2 day foundation course before attending the 5 day course.

NOT SURE

If you can confidently do the following without any help, then you only need to complete the 5 day VRQ Level 2.
Install a 13amp ring circuit, Lighting circuit including 2 way, a spur socket, outside light and earth bonding.
