Our team of experts ensures that you get a full grasp of each sector of the course ranging from the standard procedures through to the more physical and demanding aspects of the course.Government statistics show there is a shortage of between 24,000 and 29,000 plumbers in the United Kingdom. One of the main reasons for the skills shortage is the lack of apprenticeships being offered to school leavers. The majority of professional plumbers are one man, self employed businesses that are reluctant to train an apprentice. Teaching an apprentice has an adverse impact on productivity, therefore affecting profit.
Furthermore, once the apprentice is fully trained, they tend to start working for themselves on a self employed basis. In short, it is very difficult for the mature career changer to get into plumbing via the conventional route. Structure and General Overview
The Plumbing Courses primarily consist of hands on practical exercises, limiting theory to the essentials. Learning theory is also important but it is more cost effective to carry this out at home. There are many very good publications available and we gladly advise you of these. We believe this to be the quickest way for you to learn to become a professional plumber - get out there, do the job and start earning a good living.

1. We have been in operation since March 2003 and have successfully trained students from all over the British Isles including Ireland, France and Spain.
2. Everything you learn at Plumbskill will help you achieve your NVQ Level 2 Certificate. Each practical task you perform is constructively criticised and assessed by one of the Plumbskill instructors, corrected by you if necessary, and then signed off as completed to the satisfaction of the Course Director. NVQ qualifications, should you decide to go that route, require the gathering of a Portfolio of Evidence of work that you have achieved both as a student and as a practicing plumber. Every task you complete at Plumbskill will count towards that goal and we provide NVQ Job Report Forms for you to write up detailing the task, elements involved, materials used, test results and outcomes. We will then sign off the task. We also provide literature to back up the taught theory and you are encouraged to take notes and photographs of your work to add to the portfolio you will take away with you on completion.
3. We teach a More Comprehensive Syllabus. Don't be taken in by the word 'overview' that appears on some websites. Overview means talking about plumbing not actually doing it.
4. We keep to Smaller Classes to give you more individual time with the tutors as we believe in Quality not quantity.
5. Longer Working Days than other courses and more flexible working hours. We want you to take your time to get the greatest personal benefit and not have to work within time constraints. The course is easily achievable, under these conditions, for most students in 10 days but there is no time limit.
